Further information:
Savannah rescue has members that always go above and beyond for us. We have been touched by so many fosters and adopters that take on the unwanted savannah cats in our world. They tackle behavioral issues, health issues and even travel long distances to rescue cats.

Needing a new home again is 13-year-old F1 savannah cat and his companion a 12-year-old domestic. They are a bonded pair and of course cannot be separated. At this time they are both healthy and have no behavioral concerns. They would be happiest in a quiet home with no loud bouncy dogs or other cats - they had lived a sheltered quiet life with their original owners.

Kobe and Sally were adopted, but the adopter’s resident cat does not get along with F1 Kobe and we feel they did not fully understand the challenges of integrating an adult F1 into the household. Both Sally and Kobe lived with their past owners for almost 12 years, until the owners both became critically ill and had to surrender them. We thought we found their forever home, but it was not to be.

Sally had been raised with Kobe since she was 6 weeks old. The owner took Sally in after her mother at a few days old abandoned her. The owner syringe, bottle-fed and hand fed Sally to be the gorgeous cat she is now.

We want this adoption to be as non-traumatic as possible for the cats and the owners.

Kobe and Sally are up to date on vaccines and have recently been to vet for health check

WHAT WE WANT IN A NEW HOME:

Experience with Early Generation savannahs is a big plus! A quiet home with no loud bouncy dogs, very young children or other cats would be perfect! Since they are used to each other they would probably be fine with a quiet, small dog that is non aggressive and is introduced slowly. Our team can help with suggestions for making a successful introduction.

The new adopters should appreciate the challenge of a large cat that is upset and angry over the changes in his life.

Kobe and Sally need a large space to start off in that is theirs alone (not a bathroom and not a bedroom used by someone – needs to be their own space)...it may take weeks to months of slowly introducing them to your household, so please take this into consideration.

We will want a potential adopter to explain to us that he/she/they understand how difficult this may be and how he/she/they will handle the situation…we want this to be their last home.

Adoption fee: $200.

Reply: should include not only the location of the home offering, but a short description of the household and why it is suitable for “Kobe and Sally” given the information we have included.

Please check your state and city/county laws to confirm that Savannahs are allowed where you live.www.hybridlaw.com is a good place to start your search.

Additionally, due to the huge influx of offers we often receive for a given cat, when an offer is received that disregards crucial needs the cat has for a home, we may not find time to reply to those offers. We need to prioritize our time to responding to homes that have read the selection criteria and have addressed these needs in the email they have sent. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
