Further information:
Zuri is an 18 month old male, purchased from breeder Connie Cutbirth at Amore Savannahs - she will not be taking him back, so we need to find him a home that is quiet and calm. He just cannot handle the hustle and bustle of a busy household and will run and hide. He is said to love to be with his female human and will lay in a lap and purr - he loves to be stroked and petted. His owner said that Zuri would seek her out when the house is quiet and he does fine with one or two adults. So he will likely do better with a female owner. He is a frightened BIG boy - said to be stunningly handsome by his present owner.
Zuri was adopted, but is not doing well in his new home. He is a very big boy and needs someone used to dealing with traumatized cats. It seems that we were NOT informed when we first placed Zuri, by the original owner, that Zuri will strike out when frightened and become aggressive. He doesn't just strike out for no reason - he will charge at a human to scare them off, as he himself is very frightened. You need to be aware of this behavior and ready to deal with it. Zuri is a very large boy and as such, can be extremely intimidating. It seems he may have been abused by the former home's male adult and/or children.
Zuri does long to be with the new adopters other cat, but is just too traumatized to be comfortable in this home. That being said, he may do better with a larger cat or dog, once comfortable in his surroundings.
Zuri is up to date on his vaccines.
WHAT WE WANT IN A NEW HOME:
* A larger home allowing Zuri access to an outdoor enclosure, giving him refuge from humans, is ideal.
* Someone who has dealt with traumatized/abused large cats
* NO children
* Only one large cat or dog
* Quiet home
* Understanding, loving female owner as primary caretaker, if possible
We do NOT want to ship!
Adoption fee: $200 to be payable as consultation with Marilyn Krieger, the Cat Coach. There MUUST be a commitment to work with her for at least a month, to help Zuri become less frightened and more trusting. Often, F1 and F2 savannahs become extremely bonded to their owner(s) and have a difficult time transitioning - this seems to be part of Zuri's issue...so we want to give him and his potential adopter all necessary means to live a happy and normal, loving life.

Reply: should include not only the location of the home offering, but a short description of the household and why it is suitable for “Zuri” given the information we have included.
Please check your state and city/county laws to confirm that Savannahs are allowed where you live.www.hybridlaw.com is a good place to start your search.
Additionally, due to the huge influx of offers we often receive for a given cat, when an offer is received that disregards crucial needs the cat has for a home, we may not find time to reply to those offers. We need to prioritize our time to responding to homes that have read the selection criteria and have addressed these needs in the email they have sent. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
